Ran no Jidai

Ran no Jidai: Chaos/War/Revolt Era

Kyoto, 1467: As the ancient imperial capital burned to the ground, the Shogun ignored the blaze and held a poetry recital. As samurai armies from distant provinces battled each other outside the palace gates, the Shogun busied himself with tea ceremony and flower arrangement. Japan's It began when the ruling Shogun failed to avert civil war, the resulting power vacuum served only to inflame the conflict, which dragged on for well over a century. "Sengoku Jidai" (Era of the Warring States) lasted from 1467 to 1603.
